  1. Food Allergies

Each dish stated on the menu has a list of main ingredients that are used in larger quantities.  However, certain ingredients, such as herbs and spices, which are used in small quantities, do not have to be broken down in detail.

It is customers’ responsibility to inform the staff about their special dietary requirements before placing their order so staff are able to provide customers with relevant advice and inform kitchen staff to take all the measures to avoid cross contamination.

Although Amalthea Greek Bistro is not a vegetarian restaurant, staff take specific steps to separate vegetarian from non-vegetarian products, as follows:

– One deep fat fryer is exclusively used for vegetarian food.

– Specific equipment is used only for non-meat products.

  1. Gift Vouchers

-Gift vouchers can be used any day from Tuesday to Sunday and they are valid strictly until the stated date. Gift vouchers can also be used to purchase deli products, but only for purchases in store and not online. If your total spending is a lower amount than the amount stated on the gift voucher, a refund is not possible. You can redeem the remainder of the amount on another visit.

-Gift vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount offers, such as the early bird deal.

-Winners of competitions are allowed to have only a 2 course or 3 course meal as stated on each competition on social media/website. If they wish to change a dish for any reason then they have to pay it. No mistakes are accepted on behalf of the kitchen as the meal is completely complimentary.

2b. Competitions

-You can redeem your competition prize/vouchers within 3 months from the date you won it. If you try to redeem it later then it may be considered not valid.

-If you win a thematic competition, such as Mother’s Day/Father’s day, then the prize is valid for the specific menus only. If you miss the opportunity to redeem it on the specific day then it may also considered not valid.

  1. Reservations

If the customer is not present within 20 minutes of the reservation time and the customer has not informed us, the customer’s reservation will be cancelled.

A deposit of five pounds per head is required for the booking of eight people and above. The deposit will be deducted from the total bill but it is not refundable for people who do not attend the meal unless they inform the restaurant two days (48 hours) in advance.

We accept all types of cards, but we can accept a maximum of three card payments per table, with the remainder of the amount payable in cash.

  1. Private Events

There is no charge for the hire of the whole dining area for a personal event.

The whole dining area can be reserved for a minimum of 45 guests. If cancellations result in the number of guests dropping below 30, the group can reserve a certain number of tables with the remainder of the dining area available for other customers.

To book the whole area you should have placed the deposit at least 3 weeks before the event takes place.

The hospitality team can refuse a booking if there are already other bookings placed for the specific date.

A deposit of 10 pounds per head is required to finalise the booking. The deposit will be deducted from the total bill but is not refundable for people who do not attend the event. If the event is cancelled, the deposit is refundable only if the restaurant is informed 10 days in advance.

Customers should place a pre-order of food at least five days before the event. A member of staff will contact with you to arrange the pre-order.

There will be a 10% service charge on the total bill.

  1. Loss and Damage

Amalthea Greek Deli Ltd. will not be held liable for any loss or damage of customers’ personal belongings. Customers are fully responsible for parked cars in the designated parking space provided by Amalthea.

  1. Unforeseen circumstances

We will not be accountable for any delay or failure in the performance of our responsibilities due to events out of our control such as (but not limited to) adverse weather, accidents, fire, flooding, interruption of electricity/gas supply, equipment failure, traffic problems and terrorism.

  1. Opening hours

The kitchen closes one hour before the closing time of the Bistro.

After 6pm drinks and desserts are served only to customers who have just had their meal at the Bistro.

The hospitality team can refuse take-out orders when the kitchen is very busy.

7. Zero Tolerance

We have implemented a zero tolerance policy towards discrimination, threats and rude behaviour towards staff or other customers. In the event of someone behaving inappropriately according to this policy, the person or people responsible will be kindly asked to leave the premises.  This policy is based on the current laws and regulations set by the UK.  If a situation escalates we will be obliged to call the police.

8. Events Terms & Conditions

If an event is cancelled two weeks before the event is due to take place the customer is entitled to a full refund. The refund will be paid within 14 days of the cancellation.

Customers are not entitled to any refund if they cancel less than 14 days before the event is due to take place. Please keep the ticket and use it for another similar event (contact staff for further details).

If someone does not attend no refund will be given as material/ingredients will have been prepared for this person and the place could have been given to someone else.

Tickets are not transferable. They cannot be given to another person without informing our staff as seats are booked for specific names. Gift vouchers should include the name of the person attending the event. If you have a voucher with no name on it then please contact us on 0113 267 2888 or visit our bistro.

If the Amalthea team needs to cancel the event then the event will be transferred to another day. Our team will contact each person who has booked a place to inform them. If a person cannot attend on the new date then a refund will be given.

If you book an event too close to the date of it taking place then please bear in mind that we may have to move you to another group (when possible) or give you a refund if the group is too large as each time there is a limited number of spaces to ensure the smooth running of the event.

Amalthea has the right to ask any person to leave the premises if they create disruption during any event. Any person asked to leave the event is not entitled to any refund.

Video and sound recording are prohibited. Any person caught recording will be asked to delete content. Photographs are prohibited. People repeatedly caught video or sound recording will be asked to leave.

People with disabilities are welcome but please inform a member of our team so we can provide the best experience.
